- Start early and apply for numerous scholarships! - Visit your counsellor or the Elgin Park Career Centre for help. - Ask your personal resources, such as family, friends, employer about any scholarship opportunities that they may be aware of. - Visit and/or Sign up on external scholarship websites (See external scholarship tab) - Check other high school websites for more scholarship lists and resources. - Read the eligibility criteria for each scholarship and follow instructions carefully. - Proofread and ask someone else to review your application. Apply! Apply! Apply! Many students underestimate their chances and some scholarships remain unawarded each year because there are few or no applicants. Remember that each scholarship application becomes easier, because much of the information requested can be re-used. Invest your time in scholarship applications and the pay-offs can be impressive! |
